It’s Spring! With Spring comes so many ways to focus on the 5 senses … the sun’s warmth, the pitter patter of raindrops during a spring shower, the smell of freshly cut grass (the sound of all the lawn mowers at work!).
Creating Sense of Spring Guess Bags
I grabbed 5 paper bags, and thought of objects with different textures to fill the bags. Some of the things I choose:
- rain boot
- kid’s gardening glove
- seed packet
- freshly clipped grass
The kids were blindfolded and then they reached into the bag. Using only their sense of touch, they had to identify the object in the bag.
My favorite part? My son’s description of a dandelion, “Mommy! It’s those things that pop up out of the ground all over; that are flowers that we don’t plant.”
What would you put into your Spring guess bag?
