My kids love scavenger hunts. One of our favorites is a shape hunt. This is an especially good now that the weather is colder and we are inside more often.
You don’t actually need anything for the shape hunt, but we use this printable chart, with 8 shapes on it. We go into a room, and count the numbers of different shapes we find, and write them on the shape. It’s easy to play, and the kids are delighted when they realize that their familiar objects are composed of different shapes!
It’s easy to adjust this for different ages. My kindergartner writes the numbers himself. My toddler just points to different shapes.
